About
Behind Atelier Arpente is the quest of Zélie, a committed designer and illustrator from Clermont-Ferrand, a little frustrated behind her computer and more fulfilled surveying wild landscapes.
In 2019, she's looking for ways to print images more responsibly and without petrochemical inks. Along the way, she discovered that there are a multitude of plants with strong colouring powers: dye plants. She learnt about them, tested them, tried them out, struggled with them, failed at them, met them, experimented with them...
Since then, these plants have been the backbone of her professional life, and alongside them, Zélie has established herself as a designer-craftswoman, and discovered an obvious passion for passing on these skills.
Since 2024, her lifestyle has become semi-nomadic: she divides her professional and personal life between moments firmly rooted in the Auvergne and moments of creative adventure in new landscapes. At certain times of the year, Zélie is available to give workshops and initiations in the region, and the rest of the year her diary is open for remote illustration and graphic design services.
