About
Behind Atelier Arpente is the quest of Zélie Sagot, a committed designer and illustrator from Clermont-Ferrand, a little frustrated behind her computer and more fulfilled surveying wild landscapes.
In 2019, I'm looking for ways to print my images more responsibly and without petrochemical inks. Along the way, I discovered that there are a multitude of plants with strong colouring powers: dye plants. I trained myself, I tested, I tinkered, I crawled, I failed, I met, I experimented...
Since then, these plants have been the backbone of my professional life, and alongside them, I've established myself as a designer-craftswoman, and discovered an obvious passion for passing on these skills.
Since 2024, my lifestyle has been semi-nomadic: I divide my professional and personal life between times when I'm rooted in the Auvergne and times of creative adventure in new landscapes. At certain times of the year, I'm available to give workshops in the region, and the rest of the year I'm open for illustration and graphic design work.
